Mercado Pago now allows you to receive remittances in Mexico from the United States through Western Union “instantaneously”

Western Union and Mercado Pago have introduced a new alternative for users in Mexico to receive remittances in Mexico from the United States, through an alliance between both companies.

This will allow people who are in the United States to either go to a Western Union branch to make the shipment or use the website and the specific app of the institution.

How to send money through Western Union

In the event of doing so physically at a WU location, the issuer will have to share the recipient’s data at the window as they appear in their Mercado Pago Wallet account. Then the issuer will receive a 10-digit remittance code, which will have to be entered in the ” Receive money from abroad ” section in the app, and “instantly” the money will be added to the account.

Mercado Pago points out that the users of its application will not have to pay any commission for the operation to Western Union since it will be the issuer from the United States who will have to pay the fee.

In addition to this alternative, there is also the option of sending money through Orlandi Valuta or Vigo. In all cases it can be received 24 hours a day, completing transfers “in seconds” and you can both withdraw and cash, pay for services, make purchases and recharges.

It is not necessary for the sender to have an account in Mercado Pago Wallet, only the account data is sufficient and through approved partners. The limit to receive is 4,999 dollars (just over 103,000 pesos at current exchange rates) and it can be sent not only from the United States, but from any other country in the world, except Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Crimea. Cryptocurrencies and methods of government

In addition to the traditional ways of sending, other alternatives to send money from the United States to Mexico are through cryptocurrencies, with options such as Bitso Shift, and Coinbase with the option of withdrawing at OXXOs and other locations, as well as Tether.

Another option is the one enabled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Telecomm, which through the “Paisanos Remittances” card enables sending money without charging commissions and even allowing online purchases.
